Honestly, I felt that this was just another canned stencyl platformer. As mentioned in many previous comments, the controls are far too slippery. The bat speed is understandable, since the impossible to pass bats must be defeated by examining your surroundings. The music was decent for the type of game, however the recycled Minecraft sound effects were really unnecessary. The lava and fire do not need sound effects. The only sounds in the library should be the music, the jumping/landing sound, and the selection tone. Respawning is another issue, since you respawn to the last checkpoint closest to you, rather than the last one you reached.
Overall, I didn't find this game to be very interesting or fresh.

What else can I say? This game might be one of the best games I've ever played on Newgrounds. The mix of game genres kept the gameplay interesting and the diversity of each level kept me excited to progress in the game. Whatever the development time for this game was, it was well worth it. Amazing work!
I know you were going after the whole "Where am i? I need to escape!" theme, but introducing yourself as the creator of the game seemed a little... bland? Making the key and the red block void objects seemed a little pointless also, since it doesn't contribute to the story or progression. When i saw the word "escape" I immediately tried hitting the key, which ended the game and also made me laugh. Not bad for a first attempt, but the title sort of implied some heavy metaphorical background. Keep trying, and surely you'll get it right!

There kinda WAS a heavy metaphorical background...I guess it just went over your head. I'm going to discuss my intentions just a little bit:
I wasn't necessarily going after the "Where am I?" theme, more like the "What am I doing?" theme. As in, "What is the point of this game? What are my goals? Am I just going from level to level? Or am I not making any progress at all towards success?"
The key and the red block were meant to establish distrust in the text, creating uncertainty. The uncertainty would then make the later text somewhat harder to believe.
The idea is this--games have goals, and the player has to choose what his goals are going to be. But this game is unique because the goal is not what you think it is at first. The game should not have to tell you what your goal is for you to be successful at achieving it.
What is success? Whatever you say it is.

When I started the game, I expected some kind of joke game which would consist of running around doing pointless things that don't matter. As soon as I got to the dark forest, I got the feeling that this wasn't a typical joke game, but something more. I have to admit, it's a freaken scary juxtaposition to have!

the game is fun. Or rather, WOULD be fun if you just touched it up. first thing you should do is RAISE THE FREAKEN FRAME RATE. The game speed is painfully slow and kindof discourages you from playing. Second, The lack of music makes the game seem dull. Though it might not seem like its true, music in a game (or at least sound effects) adds an effect to the game which makes it more interesting.
I suggest you delete this entry and try again. You could potentially get a score of 4.00
not bad but...
the game was full of problems.
the main problem was knowing what you wanted us to write.
i came across a blacked out picture of hitmochan but no matter how much i tired, it wouldnt accept it. this happend for the tetris piece and for the invader. if you wanted a name for the tetris block, no one would get it. everyone calls that particular block by a different name. it IS rather fun trying to get all the characters though. nice job.

you did an awesome job with this game! all the enemies were creative, well drawn and nicely animated AS USUAL! definitely one of the best games on newgrounds!
don't get me wrong tho... there IS room for improvements but even with the flaws, its a totally awesome game! awesome job! 9000/10

the deaths for the common goblins took a bit too long. i think they should just fade
when the fall on the floor
the character's walk cycle is a little weird.

Yup! You are right. If I do a full game of this I will add some more death animations (shorter but more). Or simple that they fade out :P Thought ppl would like some blood.
YEA! Now when I watch it it seems that the character is drunk or high on something when he walks :S He is like moving his arm pretty wierd. But as Is aid...Im not a good animator ;)
